web aggregator or content aggregation website

I want a website that will combine information content geared to a specific audience or community. The information and reference materials will be combined from various sources and makes it available to customers. I want a custom made script or a module that will transparently collect and analyze information from multiple websites or web data sources. If you have any prior experience making such website or script, do let me know.
