phprunner site integration with paypal payment

I wrote a site with phprunner.
This is a database that can be consulted by subscription for information on technical procedures.
The bulk of the work is done, I am interested in integrating it to pay for the subscription with paypal.
The payment button for the different subscriptions is done (in total there are 3 of different durations) and correctly redirects the customer to the paypal site.
What is missing is the confirmation through the IPN listener that in the positive case and the payment is completed writes the payment string to the database and updates the status of the
subscription to make it active. Obviously in the negative case it redirects to the relative error page and back to the payment or in case of cancellation, it cancels the whole operation.
