pay with paypal auto return issue (paypal hosted)

hi i use pay with paypal button as part of hosted solution
i was trying to hide the paypal button altogether due to a major issue
Issue: after payment is taken it DOES not return the customer automatically to the checkout_success.php page.
it actually takes them to the login.php page! how dumb so it seems to log them off. which is ok in principle but as long as it goes thru the checkout_process.php first so the order can be processed correctly on the website and the emails sent out.
It works fine if they choose Pay with Debit Card and enter the info
Solution 1: fix the bug so it auto returns via checkout process
Solution 2: remove or hide or disable the paypal button altogether or when pressed put a warning saying please choose the debit or credit card option.
ideally id love to get it fixed as many people use paypal.
Note: i have added the Pay with Paypal optional to ON and it still shows the button so hosted obviously shows it no matter what
