biometric attendance configuration

I'm looking to have a biometric attendance system configured for employee tracking. I will be using a fingerprint scanner for this, which will need to be configured with the necessary software. This system should be secure, reliable and integrated with any rapid deployment/backup systems. This is for tracking employee attendance to better manage staff resources and to generate more accurate timesheets. Any experience integrating similar projects in the past would be a bonus.
