Technical specification for developer: Implementation of a smart search plugin for the website with multilingual capability and analytics analysis.
General Description
The aim of this task is to create a plugin for smart search on the website with the possibility of quick integration into the sites of our clients' shops. It should be able to process user queries in different languages, correct input errors, consider morphology and synonyms, and provide relevant results with filtering and sorting options. Search results can be implemented as a JS script for embedding on the site, transmitted via API, or through Google Tag Manager. It is also necessary to implement statistics for the client in their personal account. It is important that each client can be quickly connected to our system, and from the client, only a product feed in XML format is required.
Our service should be implemented on a subscription basis, with monthly payment. Depending on the selected tariff plan, services should be provided and fees charged.
Functional Requirements for the Search Plugin
1. Query Processing
- **Correction of query errors:**
- Up to 1-2 errors in one word are allowed.
- Letter rearrangement.
- Skipping a letter.
- Extra letter, doubling of letters.
- Merging two words.
- Errors in transliteration.
**Automatic keyboard layout correction:**
- Correction of incorrect keyboard layout for each word separately.
- **Transliteration from Latin to Cyrillic and vice versa:**
- Words entered in Cyrillic (brand, product name) are automatically translated into Latin and vice versa.
2. Synonyms
- **Manually defined synonyms:**
- Inclusion of words with different pronunciation and spelling but the same meaning (e.g., smartphone - mobile phone).
3. Mobile Version
- Adaptation of search and results for different screen sizes: monitors, tablets, smartphones.
- Optimization of images for retina screens.
4. Filtering by categories.
5. Customization of search and ranking algorithms
- Ability to influence the order of category and product display from both the client and our side.
