Zencart plugin for adding products by file name

Hello. I am interested if any php or java coders could make a script that when run, it scans a folder of images and will generate new products based on the file name. The file name would be a scheme such as category_productType_sku-number.jpg ... When the new product is generated it needs to have attributes applied. The attributes are pre-defined. A way of going about this could be to duplicate a product (that has previously been made - a template product) with the correct attributes and settings, and apply a unique Product Name variable pulled from the file name in the directory.
