WordPress/PHP Developer
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We’re seeking a WordPress and PHP developer and all-around computer wizard to join our team of e-commerce specialists building and maintaining our websites and other integration projects.
This position requires a solid understanding of WordPress, PHP and related infrastructure.
You will support our WordPress-based websites through development and improvement, as well as various software integration projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain multiple WordPress websites
Customize WordPress's front-end components using industry best practices
Research, install, test and maintain ready-made and custom WordPress extensions
Make ongoing updates to pages to support marketing and business agendas
Document the work you did inside our documentation library, to share with other what was done
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of Front-End Development (HTML5, CSS, JQuery, Responsive mobile design)
Solid mid-level coding experience using PHP
Some understanding of back-end development (PHP, MySQL, MongoDB)
Understanding of WordPress's code structure, extension architecture, and theming
Web services/API integrations (REST/SOAP)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of PHP web development experience
3+ years of WordPress development
2+ years working in the e-commerce space
Excellent communication, documentation, and attention to detail
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing to collaborate on projects, including architectural design
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on challenging tasks by yourself and as part of a team
A desire to be personally responsible for robust, high-quality code
Ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple projects simultaneously (Asana)
Preferred but not required:
Experience with Linux/Apache
NoSQL experience - MongoDB
GitLab source control
Knowledge of technologies like CDN, hosting, web server configurations, DNS, etc.
Knowledge of e-commerce data organization, relationships and store catalog (categories/products/attributes)
