WordPress & Google Sheets Integration Developer
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced developer to create a seamless integration between Google Sheets and our WordPress website. The objective is to allow content management directly from Google Sheets, enabling users to input or update post data and "push" it to our WordPress site as custom post types, ensuring synchronization between the two platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Google Sheets Setup:
Structure a Google Sheet with columns corresponding to custom post type fields in WordPress (e.g., Title, Description, Image_URL, Headline 1, Headline 2).
Implement a "Post Type" column to specify which custom post type the data should be uploaded to.
Add a "Status" column to indicate post status (e.g., published, draft).
Google Apps Script Development:
Develop a script using Google Apps Script to read data from the sheet.
Implement a "push" button in Google Sheets. When this button is clicked, the script should identify any changed fields in the sheet and format the data for the WordPress REST API, sending updates to the corresponding post type fields in WordPress.
WordPress Integration:
Ensure custom post types in WordPress are set up to be accessible via the REST API.
Handle authentication for secure data transfer between Google Sheets and WordPress.
Implement error handling and duplication checks to avoid creating duplicate posts.
Feedback Mechanism:
Provide feedback within Google Sheets after the "push" action, indicating success or any errors.
Documentation:
Create comprehensive documentation detailing the entire integration process.
Ensure the documentation is clear and structured, enabling replication of the process for future projects or by other team members.
