Goal to sell gift cards also offline and pay with gift cards in store POS.
Steps that needs to be done
Sale gift card scan barcode
Enter amount and set data today +365 days
Option to give e-mailadres to send gift card as koptie to e-mail
Amount from gift card set as product price
When order paid in POS then Gift Card activate
Set gift card as payment method in POS
When pay with gift card pop-up for scan barcode
Results are amount from gift card and use amount to pay for order
When order paid in POS with gift card take the amount from the gift card
Now the requirements for each step.
1 Sale gift card scan barcode
Each gift card from the shop has a unique barcode. When the shop owner sells a gift card product in the POS system there needs to be a pop-up with a field to scan the barcode from the giftcard.
2 Enter amount and set data today +365 days
After the field with barcode is set we like to have 2 extra fields for the next thing.
First field the show owner can set the amount from the gift card and in the second field there can be a date from today +365 days. This is the date till when the customer can use the gift card.
3 Option to give e-mailadres to send gift card as koptie to e-mail
Next field is not required and only be used when it's filled.
There needs to be a field that the shop owner can use to send a copy from the gift card to customers' e-mailadres.
The plugin Woocommerce Gift Card uses an email template when you buy a gift card online, this email template we also wanna use when a customer sells a gift card offline in POS when set in this field the e-mailadres.
4 Amount from gift card set as product price
When the amount from the gift card is given in step 2 this need to be set for the product price so the customer can pay this amount in the shop/POS
5 When order paid in POS then Gift Card activate
So now we have the next data from the steps above.
Barcode gift card
Amount from the gift card
Expiration date
E-mail adres when set
When the order is paid/closed then the gift card can be activated with this data, when there is an e-mailadres then send the gift card also.
6 7 8 9 Set gift card as payment method in POS
When a customer buys a gift card online and also offline then they can pay with this in the shop, the shop owner needs to have the option to take the amount from the gift card.
When the show owner has an order in the POS there needs to be the payment method gift card. If you select this option there needs to be a pop-up to scan the barcode from the gift card. If scanned there needs to be showing the amount from the giftcard and the expiration date. After using the amount to pay the order show the left amount from the giftcard.
