Website update

We have a running website that is running on bootstrap, where visitors can view academic journals. the system also adds writers and institutions and users can query the database for the articles. We are looking to update the site such that the visitors can query google and other academic sites as well as the website database. also we are looking to add a few more user types and lastly filters to the search bar.
