WebRTC Video Chat Customization & Deployment
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
Project Context & Goal
I’ve deployed a real-time video chat service using the open-source BareRTC script: https://git.kirsle.net/apps/BareRTC.
It’s currently running on the subdomain https://x.tchatenlive.fr/ and working properly. Now, I want to:
Deploy it on the main domain.
Add custom features as detailed below.
Project Scope (MVP)
1. Admin Panel (Super Admin)
Create a secure, dedicated dashboard for the super administrator with full control:
Delete, mute, or ban users
Manage all chat rooms
Create/delete rooms
Lock rooms or set participant limits
Approve or deny access to specific rooms
2. User Access System
Upon visiting the site, users should choose between:
Register
Fields required: First Name, Last Name, Email, Password, Gender, Zip Code
City should be auto-detected based on the Zip Code
Gender options:
Male → Blue
Female → Red
Couple → Gray
Lesbian → Violet (or any other distinct color)
Join as Guest
Fields required: Gender + Zip Code
Same auto-detection and color assignment apply
3. Room System (Phase 1)
All rooms are created by the admin only (for now).
Admin can create public or private rooms
Admin can set access permissions (some rooms require approval to join)
Limit each room to 30 users max
4. Future Feature Placeholder: Subscription System
Not required now, but structure should anticipate:
Registered users purchasing premium access
Premium users creating and managing their own rooms
Premium users having moderation rights within their rooms
Main admin retaining overall control
Deliverables
Functional deployment on the main domain
Secure super-admin dashboard
Working registration and guest access system with gender-based color coding
Room management system as described
Clean, documented source code (GitHub or zip)
Installation/setup documentation
Live working demo for validation
Required Skills
Node.js (Express or similar backend)
WebRTC (signaling, TURN/STUN setup)
Frontend: Vanilla JS, React, Vue, or Svelte
CSS framework: Tailwind or Bootstrap (optional)
Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL or similar
Security best practices (JWT, XSS/CSRF protection, GDPR-compliance)
DevOps: Nginx/Apache, SSL setup, deployment automation
Ideal Profile
Experience building real-time chat or video platforms
Clean code practices with documentation
Ability to improve UI/UX if needed
Fluent in English or French
