Web Developer - jQuery/PHP/cookie/WordPress knowledge required
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We are seeking a developer to help with ongoing tasks. We will give you the first task to see how well you perform.
For this first task, you must have jQuery/cookie knowledge along with WordPress Knowledge. Ideally, you will also understand AWS, as the website is hosted here.
Each of our clients have separate platforms to integrate, so you must have strong knowledge about WordPress webhooks and API integration knowledge.
Task Details:
The goal is to pull the following 5 URLs and store as hidden fields on all lead types (forms/calls/chats) and push them into the CRM (Salesforce - we have a F/T Salesforce developer to assist with this) of the client:
- **Landing Page URL (first time visited)**: this is the first page they visited on the website during the first time they visited the website (according to the browser cookie you create).
- **Landing Page URL (time of conversion)**: this is the first page they visited on the website during the visit that they convert (i.e. fill in a form, make a call, start a chat).
- **Referring URL (first time visited)** - this is the website that referred the visitor during the first time they visited the website (according to the browser cookie you create).
- **Referring URL (time of conversion)** - this is the website that referred the visitor during the visit that they convert (i.e. fill in a form, make a call, start a chat).
Only track this below URL once (at time of conversion):
- **Converting Page URL** - this is the URL they converted on (filled the form in/made the phone call/started the live chat/etc.).
Testing we do once complete:
For example, here, I would like to test the following scenarios:
Note: Always test incognito in order to remove your cookies each time.
For testing forms -
Test 1: Make sure the Landing Page URL is saved when moving to different pages on the website.
1) Go to this URL: https://www.client-website.com/?source=google&utm_medium=cpc&testurlfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffflongurl255+characters
2) Go to another page and fill in the form, in order to strip the tracking parameters and make sure it is being saved as a cookie across pages.
Test 2: Make sure the Landing Page URL is saved when leaving the website and returning through another source - such as Direct vs Organic vs Social Media.
1) Go to this URL: https://www.client-website.com/?source=google&utm_medium=cpc&testurlfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffflongurl255+characters
2) Leave the website, but return through a different source (FB page link, organic brand search, or direct for example). Need to make sure we track both the first LP URL when first visited and the LP URL at the time of conversion. Only convert here on the 2nd visit.
