Freelance Opportunity: DLE 14.0 Drag-n-Drop Item Builder Module
Project Description:
I'm looking for an experienced PHP/JavaScript developer with knowledge of the DLE (DataLife Engine) CMS to create a custom drag-n-drop item builder module for DLE 14.0. This module will enhance the functionality of "one line" extra fields, transforming them into an intuitive drag-and-drop interface for selecting and ordering items.
The goal is to:
* Allow administrators to enable a drag-n-drop item builder for specific "one line" extra fields via a checkbox in the extra field settings.
* Provide a modal window displaying items sourced from DLE category ID 11. Each item will have an image (itemimage extra field) and a type indicator (rune-color extra field).
* Enable users to drag and drop items from the modal into the designated extra field areas in the news add/edit form.
* Save the selected item IDs (DLE material IDs) as a comma-separated string within the "one line" extra field.
* Allow reordering of selected items within the drag-n-drop area.
* Prevent duplicate item selection within a single field.
* Provide filtering within the modal by item color (red, orange, green, blue).
* Exclude specific item IDs from appearing in the modal (via a configurable array in the code).
* Ensure seamless saving and loading of selected items when adding and editing news.
* Integrate visually using the provided dragitems.html template.
* Ensure compatibility with DLE 14.0 and the xField Tab module.
Responsibilities:
* Develop the complete DLE module, including all necessary PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
* Modify DLE core files (specifically xfields.php if required) with a clear patch or instructions.
* Create a PHP script (load_items.php or similar) to fetch item data via AJAX.
* Implement the drag-and-drop functionality and modal window interface.
* Ensure data is saved and loaded correctly within the DLE xfields system.
* Integrate the provided dragitems.html template for styling.
* Provide clear installation instructions and user documentation.
* Test the module thoroughly for compatibility and functionality in DLE 14.0 and with the xField Tab module.
Required Skills:
* Strong proficiency in PHP.
* Excellent JavaScript skills, including AJAX and DOM manipulation.
* Good understanding of HTML and CSS.
* Experience with the DLE (DataLife Engine) CMS and its core functionality, particularly the xfields system.
* Familiarity with creating DLE modules and modifying core files (when necessary).
* Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
* Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, well-documented code.
