Use Cloud Inventory API (SOS Inventory) to pull COGS into shopify cost field

HI, We use SOS inventory and shopify as the ecommerce connection.
Currently they are connected through API to update inventory qty and to send over fully paid orders.
What we now need to use the SOS inventory API to pull the COGS (real cost of Goods sold) from SOS inventory and to place into shopify cost field. We need to do this once per day in order to allow our pricing app to not set the price too low.
We would like the implementation to be not dependant on the theme, like an app or similar which will move with the theme.
We would also like to be able to turn the feature off if required. -> This last request is not essential.
