Social Media App
Budget: $1,000 – $5,000 CAD
I want to build a social media application similar to Instagram, with an algorithm that works like Instagram’s feed—personalized, engaging, and designed to keep users connected.
The app should include:
Core social features: account creation, posting photos/videos, likes, comments, shares, and the ability to follow/unfollow other users.
Filters & media tools: Snapchat-style filters, lightweight editing, and cropping to keep things fun without overcomplicating the app.
Marketplace integration: a built-in section where users can list and sell products, allowing the platform to double as a social + commerce hub.
Key Workflows
Sign-up / sign-in via email, phone, or social login.
Capture or upload media → apply Snapchat-like filters or quick edits → publish post.
Algorithm-driven feed refresh with accurate like, comment, and share interactions.
Marketplace tab where users can browse, buy, or sell products.
Profile management with posts, followers, and items for sale.
Tech Preferences
I’m open to recommendations on the ideal stack (e.g., Flutter, React Native, Swift/Kotlin with Firebase, AWS Amplify, or Supabase) as long as it ensures smooth cross-platform performance and keeps backend costs manageable.
Deliverables
Android (AAB) and iOS (IPA) builds ready for store submission
Complete, well-commented source code
Minimal design system (logo placeholder, color palette, icon set)
Setup documentation (backend deployment, environment variables, steps to compile and publish)
The project will be considered complete once the app runs error-free on test devices, the algorithm-powered feed works as intended, Snapchat filters are functional, and the marketplace is live.
If this fits your expertise, let’s discuss timelines and milestones.
