Secure my site - being used to send spam

Hi,
It seems my domain is being used to send spam. My site uses Joomla and virtuemart. I have spoken to my host and they said :-
"It seems that the e-mails are being sent using a script in your index.php file from your public_html directory"
", we are guessing that you have a signup form somewhere on your website that is unprotected and therefore being used to send spam towards different e-mail addresses"
"Please make sure to implement a captcha form to any contact/signup form you may have on your website. You may use Google reCAPTCHA, as an example: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/about/"
We need someone who can stop whatever is being used to send SPAM.
