Restore an SMF Fourm backup: Migration, update database encoding and Tuning

I have a SMF forum backup which I need running.
The backup is old, needs to be upgraded to latest version of SMF.
It's a spanish forum so there's special characters like accents and ñ, all of this must display correctly.
The theme that was using may not be compatible with latest version, so would need some work so that it looks like before.
I will provide all files and a VPS for you to work on.
