Resolve GTMetrix Website Audit from E to A (( i might be happy with a grade B)
I just had a custom website fully developed from scratch (finished Oct 7 2021). Unfortunately the GT Metrix Performance Report/Audit was grade E. Which is not a healthy website. Especially for SEO.
Here is some recent history that i have carried out since the development handover.
1. I ran the GTmetrix Audit on my site and it returned with a Grade E with a 7 second load time
2. I deleted all the plugins that were not being used
3. I attempted to optimise the 200 WP media images with tiny jpeg but unfortunately the previous developer has left ALLOT of unused images within the theme upload folders. So, when running the plugin, it sees these and it timed out due to too many images . I dont want to waste money on a paid plugin to optimise images that are not needed. The free plugin would cover the 200 WP images.
4. I then wanted to test other parts of the website aside from the images. So i purchased WP Rocket after reading reviews and watching some you tube channels on how it improves website performance. ( not for images but for the website itself)
5. Before running the WP Rocket i backed up my files and database.
6. I ran WP Rocket with particular settings from an experienced developer. My website GTmetrix went from E to C. Which is a ok improvement but unfortunately is has affected the website in certain ways which i cannot have.
What i want to do from now;
1. I will take website to the backup stage prior to WP Rocket. (back to the GT metrix Grade E stage)
2. I then want someone to run the GTmetrix to view the grade E Audit issues and rectify the website issues WITHOUT WP Rocket
3. After you have rectified the Grade E Audit issues I want to then run GT metrix test after you have rectified GT metrix Grade E Audit issues.
4. I then want to see that new GT metrix Audit.
5. Once we improve the website performance the best we can we can then activate and run WP Rocket and run GTmetrix once again to see results.
6. Resolve any issues the website may have while WP Rocket is activated.
