Reengineer Backend API and Database Structure of existing Game Platform
Budget: €6 – €12 EUR
I am searching a competent freelancer (or team) to help me on my existing Game Platform. The platform is a stock market simulation game. The frontend is currently written in Bootstrap and uses PHP for dynamic displaying of data. The Database used is MySQL and the API is written in PHP.
As the platform grows, code becomes inefficient and I currently do not have the time and the knowledge necessary to do these works on my own.
1. Currently, MySQL (MariaDB) is used which turns to be inefficient with time data. The plan is to use PostgreSQL and to integrate TimescaleDB. Additionally, the freelancer should be able to optimize the current structure of the database.
2. The current backend (PHP) should be rewritten and use GraphQL. A specification of needed calls and functionalities will be given. The freelancer is responsible for efficient queries. The freelancer is free in the use of language. We will discuss this in chat.
3. Cron Jobs (currently in PHP) should be wisely integrated.
This is a longlasting project and the freelancer will be paid by hours of work. If the performance on the project is good, possibility will be offered to rewrite the Frontend of the game and extend it on a per-hour basis.
IMPORTANT:
Please only apply if you do have knowledge in PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, NodeJS or Django/Flask. Also, you should be able to read and understand PHP code. To see that you have read through this description, please mention "VirtualAlpha" in your description.
