Rebuilt a template loop for our wordpress blog

We have a blog where we need the layout adjusted for category, archive and tag pages.
Currently there is a boring boxed layout with sidebar.

We would like a full-width masonry layout with three post and a sidebar on the right.
The single post should hold featured image and the usual information (title, tags, date, author .. ) .
Important for us is that the textbox has fixed height so that if title or excerpt is a bit different, that the next row will still how on the same level and not be pushed away like in pinterest style.
