Real-Time Weather Alert System Development
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm looking for a developer to create a real-time weather alert system using the NWWS-OI stream. The system should process incoming weather data, filter it based on user preferences and location, and trigger instant alerts via email and SMS.
Key components include:
XMPP Setup
- Set up an XMPP server (ejabberd or Openfire).
- Configure headers to connect to NWWS.
- Use an XMPP client for real-time alert listening and processing.
Web App Development (Platform to be decided)
- User Sign-Up & Alerts: Users can sign up, select desired weather alerts (severe weather warnings, daily forecasts, emergency broadcasts), and receive notifications via email and SMS.
- User Portal: Login portal to view selected alerts and forecasts.
- Database Management: Store alerts to prevent duplicates and ensure accurate notifications.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proficiency in XMPP and NWWS integration.
- Experience in web app development with user authentication (email/password).
- Backend database management.
- Familiarity with real-time data processing and alert systems.
