Pull point data from MySQL database into LeafletJS

I have point data in a MySQL database with coordinates in lat-long which I would like to display on a webmap in Leaflet JS.
I have already built the basic Leaflet map - I just need some lines of code to be added to pull the point data from the table in the MySQL database.
I expect some code will need to be run in PHP to encode the MySQL data in geoJSON...
For the purposes of this project, I have limited the data to just two points for simplicity (more will be added once I know it is working).
