Product feed ingestion - merchant afflliate site (onsale.ie)
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Project is to supplant existing product feed ingestion routine built in legacy code to new code structure built in Codeignitor. Database is mysqldb.
Tasks would be as follows.
1) Take a published URL product feed per retail merchant and parse it to load it into database
- add new products
- amend existing products (all data fields applicable)
- where existing products not updated... move to out of stock list
2) Use a universal mapping table to map departments and categories (from merchant) to the site departments and categories that will come in from each merchant
3) Have a nightly cron job to update same
4) Allow manual kick off of one or more merchant product feeds within merchant during the day
5) Brands management - allow products to be added for approved brand name update only
6) Brands management - allow aliases (many spellings of one brand to one brand golden name)
7) Cron statistics report (copy emailed)... products added, updated, not updated due to missing categories, missing brands or other reasons (not parseable content)
