Power BI Dashboard Development for Law Firm -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
We are a boutique commercial law firm seeking a Power BI developer to create a visually engaging, live-updating dashboard to display key firm metrics on a TV in our office.
Our practice management software is Smokeball, which we have successfully integrated with Power BI (beta). The dashboard must pull data live (or at scheduled intervals) from Smokeball and present it in a clean, performance-oriented format for internal display and motivation.
Scope of Work:
You will be responsible for:
Connecting to our Smokeball Power BI dataset (already configured)
Creating a visually appealing, full-screen dashboard layout suitable for continuous display on a TV
Designing and implementing all necessary DAX measures
Ensuring metrics are refreshed live (or at least hourly) without manual input
Providing a responsive layout that works across browser-based display on a mounted office screen
Metrics to Track and Display:
1. Firm-Level Metrics:
Total Firm Revenue (excluding disbursements) – month-to-date
Percentage of Monthly Revenue Target Achieved
Total Number of New Matters Opened (month-to-date)
Total Number of New Leads (month-to-date)
(Captured via forms or CRM integration. If no direct source, we’ll provide data in a connected Google Sheet)
2. Fee Earner Performance Table:
For each team member:
Total Billables MTD
Total Hours Billed MTD
Total Fees Collected MTD
Percentage of Billable Target Met (we’ll provide individual targets)
Bonus Tracker – showing calculated share of firm bonus pool (1% of revenue, subject to threshold)
3. Trends & Visuals:
Revenue trend graph – daily or weekly
New matters and new leads trend (if historical data available)
Firm-wide performance vs. target line graph
Design Requirements:
Full-screen dashboard suitable for office TV display
Dark theme preferred (navy, grey, white palette)
Clean, minimal interface with clear callouts for:
Bonus Pool
Daily Leaderboard (Top Biller of the Week or Month)
Color-coded progress bars for percentage of target met:
Green: 90%+
Yellow: 70–89%
Red: Below 70%
Tech Stack / Tools:
Power BI (Pro license)
Smokeball (already integrated)
Zapier or Google Sheets (optional for lead tracking)
Timeline:
Initial dashboard MVP within 1 week
Final version with polish, testing, and auto-refresh within 2 weeks
Deliverables:
Fully functional Power BI report published to Power BI service
Shareable live link for browser display (in full-screen mode)
Source PBIX file and basic documentation
Optional: Setup support for embedding or casting to office TV (Chrome Box, Fire Stick, or similar)
