Launch of User-Driven Political Discussion Forum with Basic API Integration

Project Overview: We are looking to quickly launch a political discussion platform using Joomla and Easy Discuss. The platform will allow users to view political information relevant to their location and create discussion threads based on this data. The initial phase focuses on user-driven content creation with simple API integration to keep the project manageable.

Project Scope:

Joomla Setup:

Install and configure Joomla on our server.
Install and configure the Easy Discuss extension for a basic forum setup.
User Profile and Search Integration:

Add a custom field for users to input their address or zip code.
Implement a basic search tool to allow users to query the OpenSecrets API for representatives, donations, and lobbying data.
Dashboard and Thread Creation:

Create a dashboard that displays key political information based on the user’s location.
Allow users to start their own discussion threads based on the data they retrieve, using templates to guide thread creation.
Testing and Launch:

Ensure the platform is functional, user-friendly, and ready to go live.
Provide a brief guide on how to manage and maintain the platform post-launch.
