3rd Party Mail api or PhpMailer implementation

3rd Party Mail api or PhpMailer implementation into a Code Igniter 3.1 website. Its a simple ordering system, which user adds into basket what needs to be ordered from suppliers and the next stage the basket sent as an email to supplier. currently we are using email code is causing security issues in server. We want to implement PHPMailer or such 3rd party api.
