PHP Queue Management System Creation

Job ID: 39626981

Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR

Development of a Queue Management System in PHP
Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled PHP developer to build a Queue Management System. The system should allow users to generate tokens for queues, display the current waiting queue, and serve tokens once a task has been completed. The project will be built using PHP and MySQL, with a simple front-end interface to interact with the system.

Inspiration:
This project is based on the following GitHub repository:

GitHub Project: Queue Management System by glitter1105

This repository uses the Webman framework and GatewayWorker for real-time communication to manage queues efficiently. It serves as the inspiration for this PHP-based implementation.

Key Features:
Queue Token Generation:

Users will be able to generate a unique token for a queue by selecting a department.

The token will be displayed for the user to track their turn.

Queue Status Updates:

Admins can serve tokens by updating the status of a token from “waiting” to “served”.

The system will automatically track the order in which tokens were issued and allow the admin to serve them in that order.

Real-time Queue Display:

The system will display the list of waiting tokens and their associated departments.

Tokens will be served in the order they were issued, and the system will automatically update the status.

Department Management:

Admins will be able to manage departments, including adding, editing, and deleting departments.

Database Management:

The system will use MySQL to store information on departments, tokens, and queue settings.

A simple database schema will be used to track the tokens, departments, and their statuses.

User Interface:

A clean, simple, and responsive UI will allow users to generate tokens, view the queue, and serve tokens.

Forms will allow users to input department IDs for generating tokens and serving them.

Technical Requirements:
Frontend:

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for user interaction.

Simple forms for generating and serving tokens.

The display of the waiting queue in a clear and readable format.

Backend:

PHP for the backend logic to manage tokens and queue status.

MySQL for database management, storing departments, tokens, and settings.

PHP scripts for generating tokens, updating the status, and displaying the queue.

Database Schema:

A MySQL schema with tables for:

Departments: to store department names.

Queues: to store token information and their statuses.

Settings: to store configurable system settings.

Real-time Updates (Optional in future phases):

Consider adding WebSocket for real-time updates of the queue (this will be a future enhancement).

Scope of Work:
Phase 1: Initial Setup and Development:

Design and implement the database schema.

Develop PHP scripts for token generation, queue status updates, and department management.

Build the frontend with forms for generating and serving tokens, along with a queue display page.

Phase 2: Testing and Debugging:

Test the system to ensure correct token generation and status updates.

Debug any issues related to database interactions or UI elements.

Ensure that tokens are served in the correct order and that the queue status updates accordingly.

Phase 3: Documentation and Delivery:

Provide clear documentation on the setup process, including how to install, configure, and run the system.

Delivery of the complete source code, along with the MySQL database schema.

Budget:
The budget for this project is Rs. 2000.

This covers development, testing, and delivery of the project.

Please submit your proposal with a detailed breakdown of your approach and timeline.

Skills Required:
PHP (for backend development)

MySQL (for database management)

HTML/CSS/JavaScript (for frontend design)

Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony) would be a plus but is not necessary for this specific project.

Previous experience with similar queue management systems or real-time applications is highly preferred.

Deliverables:
Fully functional PHP-based Queue Management System.

Source code with detailed comments and explanations.

Database schema.

Simple and responsive user interface.

User documentation for setup, configuration, and usage.

Additional Information:
Please provide your previous work related to PHP development or queue management systems.

Provide an estimated timeline for the completion of this project.
