I run a fully custom-built e-commerce site and need a developer who can keep it healthy, secure, and evolving. The back-end is mainly PHP, several Python micro-services handle data tasks, and the front-end relies on JavaScript. Because the codebase was written from scratch—not on Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento—every update requires someone comfortable tracing bespoke logic rather than relying on plug-ins.
Typical work you’ll tackle includes bug fixes, performance tuning, adding new product or checkout features, tightening security, and occasionally integrating third-party APIs or payment gateways. I use Git for version control and stage all changes in a test environment before we push live, so familiarity with that workflow is a must.
Deliverables will usually fall into one of three categories:
• Rapid hot-fixes when something breaks or a security patch is released
• Planned feature enhancements that we scope together and roll out in milestones
• Monthly housekeeping—log review, dependency updates, and speed audits
