OSCOMMERCE BACKEND ORDERING SYSTEM SOUND / PRINT
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Oscommerce already displays the ORDERS in the backend.
What i would like to do now is have an ORDER MANAGER or order management system
Let me explain...
the main ORDER MANAGER will make a SOUND ALERT and/or PRINT the order to the attached default printer.
Please note only Orders with a certain Status will be qualified for the ORDER MANAGER. e.g orders_status_id = 1 or 5 etc. some order must not be shown until a certain status is reached.
e.g suppose a card payment is processing but has not completed then sometimes orders can appear on the backend but these will not count as actual orders until the status changes to a certain status.
Anyway that is a technical things which we can address at the end. The main job is below
so we have 2 new functions to think about
1. SOUND 2. PRINT
Option 1: SOUND ALERT with a button to say PRINT then it will print out, once the order is printed i.e after pressing PRINT button.
Option 2: SOUND ALERT only but order will have to be copied manually to paper using a pen from the preview screen.
Option 3: NO SOUND just PRINT. If the SOUND is absent or unavailable we can use AUTO PRINT so that any new orders appearing on the queue will AUTO PRINT to the default printer. (one time only) MANUAL REPRINT will be allowed.
Note: The orders will be listed from MOST RECENT at top as they come in, the page will refresh every 1 minute. A manual recheck can be done by pressing RECHECK FOR ORDERS button which we can add at top of page.
The order manager page will be split into 2 parts the order queue will appear on left side of screen and on right side we can have preview window.
OSCOMMERCE ORDERS has a lot of functionality already but we will require further customisation to achieve our goals above.
I will use either 57mm (width) thermal printer or 80mm (width) thermal printer so we have to ensure the ORDER is printed in a nice layout to fit on the paper.
The system can be further enhanced in the future to add more features
