Project Title: OCR-Based Receipt Parsing for Varied Receipt Formats on Mobile - Android/iPhone.
Project Overview:
We are looking for an OCR expert to develop a robust receipt parsing module that can accurately extract key details from receipts and invoices of varied formats and quality. The module should handle printed Image /PDF and provide structured data output.
Scope of Work:
OCR Extraction:
Storage of extracted data not required.
Extract key receipt fields such as:
Merchant Name
Date of Purchase
Item Names & Quantities & Rate/Unit Price
Total Amount
GSTIN/HSN Number (if available)
Tax Breakdown (CGST/SGST, etc.)
Handle varied receipt layouts, including different fonts, alignments, and image quality.
Support multi-language OCR (at least English and Hindi).
Technology Preference:
OCR Engine: Google ML Kit, Tesseract, EasyOCR, or AWS Textract[/[ **Preferably royalty free**]
Pre-processing (if required): Image enhancement, noise reduction, skew correction
Output format: Structured JSON or CSV
Performance & Accuracy:
Optimize OCR for low-quality and distorted receipts.
Provide a confidence score for extracted data.
Ensure processing is fast and efficient for mobile and web applications.
Deployment & Testing:
Deliver a standalone OCR module (with API or CLI interface).
Ensure the model works across varied receipt formats ( supermarket, restaurant, e-commerce invoices, Automobile service etc.).
Provide a demo showcasing real-world receipt extractions.
