Numismatic photo system

I am looking to develop a Numismatic Photo System for the purpose of selling coins online. My goal is to create high quality, detailed images to showcase each coin's features and condition. I prefer a Desktop Application platform for my photo system, as I need a solution which can handle a high level of detail.
