Move code from core theme file to snippets plugin (basically to child theme alternative)

I need a dev who has experience with the Snippets plugin?!
Ive had a dev create custom code for a feature I wanted but he has coded directly into my main theme and I need it moved to Snippets so I can update my theme in future. Should be very easy work for someone with Snippets experience as its just moving code from theme file to the snippets plugin.
I have much more additional work but need someone who can show me they can work with snippets first so starting with an easy task.....
