Mageno Task - Squarespace Front which needs to link in the server

This is something I need help with. Out website has squarespace as the front end with the client login area and CMS being Magento. I got another dev to update our magento build from 1.7 to 1.9.
The job is, I will provide with you with the updated magento files, then you will login to our siteground sever using a UK VPN.
Once you are in you will remove test.huveli.com
Then you will navigate through the server, install the new updated magento, remove the old magento, linking the new magento to the squarespace so it works perfectly fine.
The you are going to update the sever .php to a supported version of .php as the current one is out of date and then show that everything is working
