Loader freezes halfway - can you fix?

We have a custom made WordPress booking plugin.
Whenever the frontend communicates with our backend, the loader.gif freezes for a second before it gets the response it's waiting for from our backend.

Just act as if you were booking a trip until you get to the checkout, using the name "Test Tester" and a departure date that is at least 1 week away please. You will see that the issue occurs at every of the 3 steps.
To avoid receiving bot offers, please start your reply by naming the capital of France. Offers without that reply will not be considered.
