Laravel eLearning Platform AI Developer
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We are an eLearning platform focused on IT and programming content, built with the Laravel framework and currently hosted on DigitalOcean. We are seeking an experienced freelance developer to integrate an AI-powered question-answering system into our existing application. The system will utilize a Dockerized API based on the Mistral 7B Instruct model (or similar) to generate intelligent responses for programming-related queries.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a Docker-based AI API:
Build and containerize a Python FastAPI server that loads and serves the Mistral 7B Instruct model using Hugging Face Transformers (or an equivalent open-source model).
Ensure the API can handle requests and return responses with minimal latency.
Integrate with Laravel Backend:
Develop PHP code to interface with the Dockerized AI API.
Implement API calls from Laravel to the AI server, handle response data, and display the answers within the eLearning platform.
Ensure the integration is secure, efficient, and adheres to our current coding standards.
Optimize Infrastructure & Deployment:
Assist in setting up and deploying the Docker container on DigitalOcean (or a GPU provider like RunPod if GPU acceleration is needed).
Provide documentation for deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting the integration.
Optimize model serving based on our projected request volume to balance performance and cost.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
Implement robust error handling and logging.
Write unit tests and integration tests for both the Python API and PHP integration.
Work closely with our team to ensure the solution meets our eLearning platform’s quality and performance requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
Backend Development:
Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework.
Experience in integrating external APIs within a Laravel application.
Python Development:
Proficient in Python, with experience in creating RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask.
Familiarity with Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, and deploying open-source AI models.
Containerization & Deployment:
Experience with Docker, container orchestration, and deploying containerized applications.
Knowledge of cloud hosting platforms, preferably DigitalOcean and GPU-based providers (RunPod, Paperspace, etc.).
General Skills:
Understanding of AI/ML inference optimization techniques.
Experience building scalable, production-ready APIs.
Good communication skills and ability to document work.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS) for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) scenarios.
Prior work on eLearning or content-based platforms.
Familiarity with cost optimization strategies for cloud deployments.
