Identify cause of excess entry processes crashing WordPress website

I have a WordPress website that is running very slow. there seems to be something wrong somewhere that it is using an excessive amount of entry processes, exceeding the limit on the hosting account and crashing the site due to resource limit exceeded.

Need someone familiar with Cpanel and WordPress to identify the problem and fix.
