Client Background:
Our client runs a student canteen within a government medical college campus. They offer prepaid monthly meal plans which include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Objective:
The client wants to automate the meal cancellation and token distribution system for hostel students. Currently, students cancel meals via WhatsApp, which makes it hard to track and plan meals effectively. The goal is to build a custom WordPress plugin to streamline this entire process.
Project Scope:
You will develop a custom WordPress plugin that includes:
Admin Features:
Student Registration:
Fields: Name, Mobile Number, Email, Photo, Auto-generated Student ID
Meal Product Setup (One-time):
Add three meal types: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Reporting:
Automatic PDF reports emailed after each meal cut-off time with list of students who will attend that meal.
Export individual student reports (monthly, yearly, or custom range) in Excel format.
Student Features:
Login Portal:
Secure login for students to manage their meals
Meal Cancellation:
Students can cancel specific meals in advance before the respective cut-off time:
Breakfast – Before day 10 PM
Lunch – Same day 9 AM
Dinner – Same day 4 PM
Meal Token System:
Tokens delivered via email:
Breakfast – 6 AM
Lunch – 10 AM
Dinner – 5 PM
Students who canceled will not receive the token and cannot download it.
Token Download Option:
In case email is missed, students can re-download the latest token (if not canceled)
