Google Sheets Barcode Integration
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I need my existing Google Sheet to double as a live barcode scanner that talks directly to our Flipkart VMS. When a package’s barcode is scanned—either with a phone camera or a handheld scanner—the sheet should instantly fetch and record the correct Product ID from Flipkart so I can track every item the moment it hits the packing table.
The flow I’m picturing is simple:
1. Cursor lands in the “Scan” cell.
2. Barcode is read.
3. Apps Script (or an add-on you build) calls Flipkart VMS, grabs the matching Product ID, and drops it in the designated column—no extra clicks.
All logic, API calls, and error handling have to sit neatly inside the sheet so the packing crew keeps working in one tab. I also need a short set-up guide so I can duplicate the sheet for new campaigns without calling a developer each time.
If you’ve linked Google Sheets with external systems before, especially with barcodes or e-commerce platforms, you’ll recognize the moving parts here. Reliability and speed are more important than fancy UI; as long as every scan returns the right Product ID on the first try, the job is done.
