Fix my laravel website

I bought a script for a blog on codecanyon. The script is written in PHP Laravel.
I have installed everything perfectly and it works. I just read something.
Since it is a blog I have the possibility in the cms to set user roles. However, the author of the script wrote that once you set the permission for a user to edit posts that applies to all posts. And this is a problem because if there are more authors as in my case, everyone has the possibility to edit the posts of others.
I read in the questions and it says that you can change this but you need to customize the code in a certain file.
