Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I’m ready to launch a Research-Use-Only (RUO) e-commerce site for ~60 SKUs with COA's, and I need an experienced WordPress + WooCommerce developer who understands FDA language, high-risk payment flows, and strict data-security rules. The entire stack will live on a VPS I provide (Vultr or a comparable server you configure) and run behind Cloudflare for DNS, firewall, and performance.
Project Overview
Build a clean, modern, mobile-first RUO storefront, developed from scratch with strict attention to regulatory boundaries, payment processor tolerance, and long-term scalability. This is a scientific storefront, not a consumer wellness or medical site. Language, UX, and structure must reflect that distinction at every level.
Design Direction
• Modern, minimal, premium aesthetic
• Crisp typography with generous white space
• Professional and scientific without appearing clinical
• Simple, secure, low-friction purchasing flow
• Fully responsive (mobile, tablet, desktop)
SEO fundamentals must be built in from day one, including clean URLs, optimized metadata, fast load times, and proper heading structure.
Core build expectations
• WordPress + WooCommerce only – no hosted builders
• Mobile-first theme, fully responsive, loading in <2 s on 4G
• Explicit RUO notice / age gate before any catalog access
• Secure Payment Gateway set-up: Coinbase Commerce for crypto plus NMI/PayKings for high-risk cards
• Inventory management active from day one
• Shipping API integration for real-time rates and label generation
• Admin-editable pages and posts (Gutenberg OK)
• Transactional email + SMS plus direct promotional messaging (no bulk newsletter tools)
Compliance & security requirements

• Full PCI-DSS compliance; site must pass the external scan you schedule

Deliverables
1. VPS stack configured (Ubuntu or AlmaLinux, Nginx/Apache, PHP 8.x, MariaDB, Redis or similar object cache).
2. WordPress core, theme, and vetted plugins installed and hardened.
3. WooCommerce configured with RUO/age gate, 60 products imported (CSV supplied).
4. Payment gateways: Coinbase Commerce + NMI/PayKings live-mode tested.
5. Shipping API (UPS or ShipStation—TBD) fully functional.
6. GDPR banner, privacy policy, and T&C pages in place.
7. Performance grade: <2 s mobile, 90+ on Google PSI.
8. Final hand-off: admin credentials, server access docs, and a short Loom walk-through.
Acceptance criteria
• Site passes PCI scan and SSL test, RUO gate blocks access until confirmed.
• Successful test orders via both crypto and card processors.
• No console errors, no mixed-content warnings, and no unvetted plugins/themes.
