Experienced DevOps for AWS Migration

Job ID: 40035747

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

To those who previously took the time to bid on my project, I apologies for deleting it, but it was found to include some tasks that weren't quite right, and added to requirements. As such, I have taken them out and re-created the project.

We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous DevOps/Full-Stack developer or team to manage the migration of a critical web application from Hostinger to a robust AWS environment. The ideal candidate will not only be an expert in AWS server setup and management but will also possess strong skills in PHP/Laravel to conduct a thorough code review and suggest improvements as required.

This project has two primary objectives:
1. Infrastructure Migration: Securely and efficiently migrate our primary application, `grant maestro`, from its current hosting on Hostinger to a new, scalable AWS EC2 instance. It must be on an Australian instance to help with accessibility from council and government users.
2. Code & Performance Audit: Conduct a comprehensive review of the Ai created codebase for `GrantThrive` to identify bugs, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for performance optimization. I feel there will be a number of areas that Ai missed, but it shouldn't be many.

*Key Responsibilities:*

*Phase 1: AWS Migration & Server Setup*
* Provision and configure a secure and optimized AWS EC2 instance for a PHP/Laravel web application.
* Set up the necessary environment, including web server (Nginx/Apache), database (MySQL/PostgreSQL), PHP, and all required dependencies.
* Implement a robust backup and recovery strategy for both the application files and the database.
* Manage the full migration process, including transferring all files and the database from Hostinger to AWS with minimal downtime.
* Configure DNS settings to point the domain to the new AWS server upon completion.
* Implement security best practices, including setting up security groups, firewalls, and potentially SSL certificates.

With successful completion of the above will be a review of code for the other platform, along with getting the platforms files from GitHub onto a live AWS server. Setting up DNS and everything else involved with the new platform's installation on AWS, including SES.

*Required Skills and Experience:*

Expert-Level AWS Knowledge: Proven, extensive experience with AWS services, especially EC2, S3, SES, and security groups. Please provide examples of past AWS migration projects in your bid.
* Senior-Level PHP/Laravel Proficiency:** Deep understanding of the Laravel framework and modern PHP development practices.
* Server Administration & DevOps:** Strong background in Linux server administration, web server configuration (Nginx preferred), and database management.
* Application & Database Migration:** Demonstrable experience migrating live web applications and databases between hosting providers.
* Code Auditing & Debugging:** A keen eye for detail and the ability to systematically analyze a complex codebase to find issues and suggest improvements.
* Excellent Communication:** Must be fluent in English and able to provide clear, concise updates and documentation. Regular updates and communication is very important to me and a deal breaker if it doesn't happen!

*To Be Considered, Please Include in Your Bid:*

1. A brief summary of your experience with similar AWS migrations.
2. A description of your approach to conducting a code review for a Laravel application.
3. Links to your portfolio or examples of past projects that demonstrate your expertise in these areas.
4. A rating of at least 4.9* on Freelancer.

- Please leave a bid you think is correct, or close to correct, it would be appreciated. If you live a low/high placeholder bid, and this is then found, it will negatively impact your chance at being selected by a lot.
- Do not msg with "lets discuss this project...". I don't want to discuss it until I have evaluated all bids, which I will do. Please keep in mind that this takes time to do.

We look forward to reviewing your proposals and moving forward with the project.
