Email access after changing domain host

Our instagram account is connected to an email that we didn't own before (the email existed for a while). We own the domain and email now, but the instagram verification codes are not coming through. Likely because the domain host changed, and I don't know if we can get access to the email associated with the previous domain host. Can someone help with this?
