Developer Support Role
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
Part Time Contract - 15-20hrs per week, $700-$900USD per month Negotiable
Opportunity for increase in hours according to project tasks associated with business growth
1. Key Tasks
1.1 Advisor to Head of Online Services on project managing completion and launch of system upgrade - specifically assisting with developing realistic timelines for customer facing launch activities and troubleshooting and streamlining customer facing reporting systems and processes and User Experience improvements
1.1.1 Perform regular application Quality Assurance (QA) tasks and routines
1.1.2 Run regular Usability and Performance tests on Front-End and Back-End systems
1.1.3 Provide suggestions/plans for improving the Application User Experience (UX)
1.2 Development of back end system documentation compiling a developer manual which can be used to onboard additional members of the development team as needed.
1.2.1 Develop documentation for backend API system
1.2.2 Develop documentation for security, disaster recovery and maintenance protocols
1.3 Quality assurance of code and testing protocols to support Lead Developer.
1.3.1 Help write additional Unit and Feature tests
1.3.2 Help improve on existing Unit and Feature tests
1.3.3 Develop front-end tests
1.4 Specific larger projects as negotiated
1.4.1 Help with the gradual upgrade of the individual Application installations to the latest versions of Laravel (v9) and PHP (v8.1)
1.4.2 Help develop additional features and modules for the Application
1.5 Attendance at regular meetings (times to be negotiated on a flexible basis)
2. Requirements/ Skills
Full Stack Web Developer
Demonstrated experience with Javascript ES6, HTML5, CSS3 & SASS
Demonstrated experience/specialization with/in Vue 2.x plus vue-router, vuex
Demonstrated experience with Laravel framework (version 8)
Demonstrated experience with PHP (version 7)
Demonstrated experience with MySQL/MariaDB, PHPMyAdmin, SQL and database administration
Demonstrated experience with TDD (PHPUnit and/or Laravel Dusk for backend and any frontend test framework)
Must have GitHub/Bitbucket repository and online portfolio
Experience with AWS preferred
