DNS Checker script
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
DNS Check script
I would like someone to build a php or perl script that will look in a directory which will contain files in a DNS configuration directory. The goal of this is to determine the domains that are no longer pointed at a dns server.
Each of these files will be named after a domain name with some exclusions for these I would like to have another file defined in a flat file. For example if I wanted to exclude example.com from being reported on and the file existed in the directory it would be ignored. To retrieve the names from a linux/unix prompt it would be ls -1 on the respective server.
Second deliverable is to determine the expiration date of each domain except for the exclusions.
With each domain store the name servers and expiration date of the domain in a MySQL table.
A summary report of domains that are expiring to an email I will provide, subject will be “Expiring Domains $current_date”
The MySQL table which you will send me a script to create the structure for and I will then send credentials to the server and DB in question. I believe there will need to be the following
- Field for the domain name.
- Fields for 10 DNS servers, most domains don’t have this many name server’s but it is possible.
- Expiration date of the domain
- Fields for reminders, three different reminders will be possibly sent that a domain will be expiring.
I do have access to the OpenSRS API and can provide an API key to the successful bidder. I am not clear if that will show other domains aside from those where OpenSRS is the registrar.
