Custom order workflow in woocommerce - generate unique codes

But on our own website that uses woocommerce.
We would like the typical woocommerce order flow to work as normal, but after checkout the shopping cart will provide a unique code to display to the customer. A unique code that isn't stored anywhere on the site. That code is also sent via email where we choose and also saved into a google doc spreadsheet.
The goal is for customers to be able to use this unique code later to identify the results of the tests they purchase, with no record anywhere linking their order to the sample.
