Description:
I am looking for an experienced PHP developer to modify an open-source Bulletin Board (BB) platform to add custom database models, API integrations, and user restrictions. The goal is to transform the BB into an educational platform with structured forums related to schools, subjects, exams, and homework.
Scope of Work:
1. Database Enhancements:
Create new entities in the database:
Schools
School Levels
Subjects (Math, Physics, etc.)
Exams
Homework
2. API Development (POST/PUT Requests)
Create an API to allow remote systems to insert data into the BB, including:
Schools
School Levels
Subjects
Exams
Homework
3. API Data Synchronization (GET Requests & Cron Job)
Develop a cron job to fetch data from a remote API endpoint and update the local BB database:
Exams
Homework
4. User Management Restrictions
Disable web-based user registration – users can only be created through the API.
5. Branding & UI Customization
Remove all references (images & text) related to the original BB project.
Replace branding with provided assets (logos, text, colors, etc.).
6. Database Relations Modifications
Implement new relationships:
User → Forum (1:N)
User → Group of Topics (1:N)
User → Topics (1:N)
School → Forum (1:1)
School Level → Group of Topics (1:1)
Topic → Homework & Exam (1:N)
7. Modify Topic & Topic Group Creation Forms
Add dropdowns to select:
School(s) related to the user
School level related to the user
Reason for the topic (Test, Homework, Other)
If Test/Homework is selected, show related tests/homework for the selected school level.
8. API for Remote Data Retrieval (GET Requests)
Develop API endpoints to allow external systems to retrieve data from the BB:
Forums
Topic Groups
Topics List
Topic Details (by ID)
9. Block reading data if user is not registered
