CodeIgniter variations modifications

Hello, I have a multi-vender marketplace script that has variations, currently the variations have to be set for each listing added, and price is worked out on 1 variation only
I need it modifying so admin adds the variations, all variations have additional prices that are added together, and are already implemented into listings and not optional except for customer to select from
I'm using the script so vendors add products, and admin fulfils the orders and all contact goes between buyer and admin.
I had previously paid for this to be done, only to be let down by the developer. Looking wise it was as I wanted, but it didn't work, now hes messing me around with contact and i've no idea whats going on, so i'd like to discuss with another developer as i've had enough of the previous developer, I worked on the design and got it how i wanted it to look only to discover after months his work didn't work so I'm waiting for this to be done as my business can't be launched until its working.
He essentially removed the existing variations system and put his own in its place using predefined fields.. but Im sure it will be a lot easier and quicker to just modify the existing variation system
