I'm looking to migrate my Classic ASP website to PHP for better security and maintenance. The project includes database migration from Access to MySQL, rewriting the search functionality, and full integration into WordPress.
The current Microsoft Access database holds genealogical data for approximately 80,000 individuals. The migration to MySQL must ensure that all data, relationships, and indexing are preserved to maintain optimal performance and data integrity. The new site will be built on WordPress as the CMS. However, the migrated MySQL database will remain separate from the WordPress database, with a custom integrated front-end within WordPress to allow seamless access and interaction with the genealogical data.
