Blockchain authentication using backend database

I have build a ethereum decentralised voting app. In here anyone with a main ethereum chain account can vote. I want to customize it to allowing only students from mine university who have unique institute mail id to vote. For that, i want to superimpose this institute id authentication on my existing dapp
