Objective: Integrate our e-commerce with Google Merchant Center to ensure that new products, changes, and deletions are automatically reflected in Google Merchant Center, allowing our products to be displayed correctly in Google ads and searches.
Use an Automatic Data Feed
1. Create an Endpoint for the Feed:
Develop a functionality in the e-commerce that generates a data feed in XML or CSV format. This feed should include detailed information about all products, such as title, description, price, link to the product, and image.
The endpoint must be publicly available so that Google Merchant Center can access it.
2. Configure the Feed in Google Merchant Center:
Add the endpoint URL to Google Merchant Center.
Configure how often Google Merchant Center should check for updates to the feed (e.g. daily or weekly).
3. Ensure Regular Updates:
Whenever there is a change in the product catalog (addition, price change, or removal of products), the generated feed should reflect these changes.
Google Merchant Center will update the information based on the frequency set for the feed fetch.
